The upcoming 2020 Honda Fit is a subcompact hatchback that offers versatility and practicality. Available in four trim levels, the Fit model comes with a roomy cabin and great cargo space. Smooth ride, fuel efficiency is good and driving manners are superb.
After the last year’s exterior revamp, Honda Fit gets a sporty suspension and more upscale interior features. The changes for 2020 are minor, as Honda will aesthetically remain the same. More safety features are included, new is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the exterior will get one new color.
2020 Honda Fit exterior look and trim options
The 2020 Honda Fit looks very subtle and modern at the same time. Unlike some of its subcompact rivals, Fit really looks like a car and not like some sort of the small minivan. The third-generation started last year and Fit model gets a facelift that it deserves. With that in mind, the exterior will stay the same. The design is sporty and the shape is just perfect. There will be eight exterior paints available.
The only new color is a Platinum Pearl White that replaces White Orchid Pearl exterior paint. If you opt for the Fit Sport model, you’ll get 15-inch black wheels. The base model comes with the steel wheels, while the mid trim levels such as EX and EX-L are coming with the standard fog lights and alloy wheels. Moreover, the same trims are including a chrome grille and the liftgate.
2020 Honda Fit interior is elegant and comfortable
A subcompact car that can fit taller persons and the cargo area is great. This is one of the main advantages of the all-new 2020 Honda Fit. The cabin is designed creative and the fuel tank is placed under the front seats so the room at the rear is greater than usual. Moreover, Magic Seat is available a system that splits 60/40 and folds in many different ways.
Thanks to that, carrying a surfboard and bicycle is no problem at all. The cabin offers plenty of soft-touch materials and all of the five seats across the two rows are elegant and comfortable. Just like the exterior, the interior will also see no significant changes. Honda Fit Sport and EX-L models will benefit from a 7-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Satellite navigation is in the offer as well. The safety is the best-in-class thanks to the Honda Sensing Suite that adds adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and many other features.
2020 Honda Fit engine, transmission and fuel economy
Just like the previous versions, the 2020 Honda Fit will ride on a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This drivetrain generates up to 130 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, this unit will use a variable-valve timing and control system and CVT automatic transmission.
The EPA fuel-economy numbers are set at 33 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. Front-wheel drive configuration is standard and the ride is smooth and quiet. On the other hand, at higher speeds, the engine is noisy but in a good way, which is another great example of this hatchback’s sportiness.
2020 Honda Fit price and release date
The base 2020 Honda Fit model will cost around $17,000. Fit Sport starts at $18,500 and the EX trim at $19,000. An EX-L is a top-range trim that will cost about $21,000. While the Fit’s prices are slightly higher than its competitors, don’t forget that this hatchback offers more standard equipment. New Honda Fit will go on sale at the beginning of 2019.
