The forthcoming 2020 Honda Ridgeline is a pickup truck that delivers great driving manners, versatility, and comfort. Both payload and tow rating are average and it satisfies most of the customers. Ridgeline truck is offered in numerous trim levels. It features stunning safety amenities and even an all-wheel-drive configuration is available.
For the 2020 model, the changes are minor and perhaps the only change is that some optional features are now standard. Overall, if you need a pickup with a SUVs driving manners and truck’s capabilities, the 2020 Honda Ridgeline is perfect for you. The upcoming model is caught testing on the public road and we have some spy photos.
2020 Honda Ridgeline exterior changes and new colors
Honda decided to ditch a unique design for a cleaner look that is standard for a midsize pickup truck. As a result, loading is now much easier and the new option is a 2-way tailgate. The bed comes with a lockable storage area that is perfect for the stuff that is dirty or too big for the cabin. The 2-way tailgate either folds down or it swings out and thanks to the lockable system, security is improved.
The front end’s lower fascia looks squared. It sports fog lights and turns signals. The front grille adds a Honda’s emblem and more chrome accents while the daytime running lights are LED. Honda also added two fresh exterior paints, a Lunar Silver Metallic and White Diamond Pearl. Those two exterior colors are a great addition to the existing Crystal Black Pearl color.
2020 Honda Ridgeline interior can accumulate five passengers
The interior of the all-new 2020 Honda Ridgeline will be similar to the Honda Pilot’s model as per updates. With that in mind, we must say that the Pilot offers one of the best interiors in its segment. Everything from the switches to the climate control and infotainment buttons is logically arranged. The layout is perfect and thanks to the backlighting, controls are easy to use, even at night.
The base model is well-equipped but we recommend higher trims for more premium features. That includes Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, heated front seats and power-sliding rear windows. The room inside the cabin is ample and five passengers can fit with no problems at all. The cargo area is bigger thanks to the folding rear seats, so fitting a bicycle or anything bigger is a piece of cake.
The model 2020 Honda Ridgeline will get many technologies to make all passengers safety. Furthermore, the base model will be well eqquiped. It will get VSA electronic stability control (ESC), side impact beams, low tire pressure warning, airbag occupancy sensor, driver and passenger front airbags and back-Up camera among others.
2020 Honda Ridgeline engine output and transmission
The upcoming 2020 Honda Ridgeline comes with a single drivetrain option. All trim levels are available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine. This unit offers both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive setups. Moreover, the only available transmission is a 6-speed automatic.
This V6 engine comes with a direct fuel injection and cylinder deactivation systems. Thanks to those features, fuel efficiency is better. A 3.5-liter unit is capable of producing up to 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.
Fuel economy and towing capacity
The standard model with the FWD configuration gives 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. An all-wheel-drive system comes with a slightly lower fuel economy of 18/25 mpg in the city/highway. On the other hand, with the AWD system choose, RTL model will get towing of 5,000 pounds compared to the FWD’s 3,500.
