The company Honda will be the Tokyo Motor Show to introduce an all-electric concept called athletic Sports. The Honda Sports EV is a fully electric two-seater sports car that could, according to its performance, fill the gap between the Civic Type R and the NSX. The presentation of the sports concept came after debuting the Honda Concept EV concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
This Honda Sports EV got a “green light” for production, but the indication for this in the case of the concept Sport EV is not available. The concept uses the same platform as Urban, but other technical details are not published. Given the fact that it is a sports car, it probably has the last drive. The concept represents Honda’s intention to enter the European market for electric vehicles, with a production version planned for 2019.
Honda Sports EV – Fresh New Look Promised
The details of the new study are scarce so far, and this manufacturer says it is a compact sports car that brings new driving quality, a combination of EV drives and artificial intelligence (AI). After a short announcement comes a teaser who reveals the shape of this vehicle. Its profile is clean lines, with aggressive bumps, a steep roofline and LED square shapes.
Official drawings offer a look in the cabin, dominated by a huge display, similar to the Urban EV concept, with which this car also shares the platform. Under the title Honda Sports EV comes a sports hatchback, which in this drawing resembles the forgotten Honda model Prelude from the beginning of a career at the end of the seventies. The highlighted hips will certainly attract more men’s views, although we do not think it is racing athletes here but on the S600, a lovely buy that was in the mid-sixties. In support of this, the fact is that sports EV will share the platform with the presented Urban.
The two-seater coupé design reminds Urban that it has adopted a retro look with round front and cockpit rear lights, while the front Honda logo is illuminated. The extended bonnet and roof-shaped roof lines give the car the traditional look of the spot car, although it is richly equipped with advanced technology. From Honda, Sport EV uses artificial intelligence. Honda Sport EV features glass roofs, narrow A pillars, as well as modern solutions like cameras instead of conventional rearview mirrors.
Honda Sports EV – When can it be seen on the road?
All speculation will be known at the end of October, when the premiere of the premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show is scheduled. Then it will be known when we can expect the final version. We hope it will be already in 2019 when President Honda announced the arrival of the final version of the Sports EV. Once they have already shared the same platform, they could also have the date of the premiere sailing to the city streets.
